Teen Life strives to ensure that no teen feels alone through providing on-campus, volunteer led support groups in middle and high schools. Our volunteers come from all different backgrounds and ages. Some have years of experience working with youth and some are curious about growing their experience and this may be their first time doing anything like this! Our support groups typically meet one time per week during traditional school hours for 9 weeks. By partnering with school counselors/social workers, we coordinate a time that works for the school, students and volunteer to meet. Volunteers are trained in our Teen Life curriculum which explores topics such as strengths, coping skills, health relationships and stress. Throughout the course of the group, volunteers receive support and guidance from the Teen Life team and staff at their assigned campus. The students in group are identified by the school counselor/social worker, who most likely will be a part of the group as well. If you are curious, we would love to talk with you and share more about volunteering! We are primarily based in the DFW, Texas area.
