Mission Statement
T.R.A.P.A. empowers communities, elevates healing, and drives systemic change by addressing the root causes and impacts of trauma. We support survivors of domestic violence, sexual abuse, human trafficking, homelessness, and poverty through trauma-informed education, prevention, advocacy, and direct services--especially within marginalized and underserved populations.
Description
The Trauma Recovery and Prevention Alliance (T.R.A.P.A.) is a nonprofit organization based in New Jersey that empowers communities impacted by trauma, poverty, and systemic injustice. Founded in 2024, T.R.A.P.A. provides survivor-centered services, public health education, and advocacy to promote healing, resilience, and long-term well-being.
Our Focus Areas: Mental Health & Trauma Recovery: Support groups, workshops, and resources for survivors of violence, abuse, and trauma; Violence Prevention & Awareness: Training and education on sexual violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, and military sexual trauma (MST); Youth & Family Support: Programs like "Parents Strong" for teen parents, and trauma-informed initiatives for foster youth and families; Community Outreach: Engaging underserved populations with access to basic needs, legal education, and public safety resources; Advocacy & Systems Change: Advancing equitable policies through legislative reform, coalition-building, and grassroots organizing.
