When single parent families with a child facing a life threatening illness are in financial despair, compassioncantwait.org helps with critical expenses, allowing them to remain at their child's bedside.
Description
Compassion Can't Wait a program of the Andre Sobel River of Life Foundation was created after the loss of the founders son, Andre, to brain cancer. As Valerie watched children go through treatments alone, she felt helpless. She vowed to help families, especially single parents, have a means to be with their child as they went through treatment. Compassion helps family's with mortgage/rent, utility bills, phone, groceries and gift cards. The application is completed by a social worker and submitted for review.
