Mission Statement

Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center's mission is to support the Norfolk Animal Care Center in sheltering and caring for Norfolk’s stray and homeless animals, to promote and facilitate adoptions, to assist with special needs medical care, to promote and support spay/neuter in the community and to educate the public about responsible pet ownership.

Description

In 2024, Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center:

  • Covered $22,989 in life-saving medical care for shelter animals
  • Helped 106 senior pets and senior adopters find homes with reduced adoption fees
  • Provided 4,500 pounds of pet food, assisting 615 families through the Pet Pantry
  • Funded free monthly spay/neuter clinics with 356 surgeries, 286 rabies vaccines, and 312 microchips
  • Launched the Shelter Star Program and expanded our Best Buds Program, placing 30 animals together
