Mission Statement
At ECHO, our mission is to build healthier, more resilient communities by bringing free CPR, first aid, and healthcare education directly into the heart of our neighborhoods. As a group of dedicated pre-health students, we aim to equip individuals with the knowledge, confidence, and tools to act as capable bystanders during cardiac arrest and other emergencies. We believe that lifesaving education should be accessible to everyone--regardless of background, training, or location--and that empowering local leaders is the key to long-term impact. Through hands-on instruction and community outreach, we strive to improve survival rates, strengthen connections, and foster a culture of life-saving action. Together, we can make a difference.
Description
At ECHO, our work is guided by four key pillars: Education and Community Engagement, Research, Fundraising, and Policy Reform. We aim to make CPR training widely accessible, build networks of trained responders, support research to improve survival outcomes, raise funds for AEDs and SCA victims, and advocate for policies that promote heart health education and preparedness. Volunteers play a vital role in advancing these goals. As part of the Trainer Team, you can lead CPR workshops and establish ECHO Campuses to train your community. On the Fundraising Team, you’ll help power our mission through creative campaigns, while the Recruitment Team expands our reach by helping launch new chapters at schools and universities across the country.
