Mission Statement

Homeless Health Care Los Angeles mission is to develop and implement innovative strategies for reducing the impact of homelessness in the communities of Los Angeles. Our program focus is on street outreach, harm reduction services, substance use treatment, mental health care, health services and housing.

Description

Since 1985, Homeless Health Care Los Angeles (HHCLA) has been a leader in providing compassionate, low-barrier healthcare and support to people experiencing homelessness in Skid Row and throughout Los Angeles. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of unhoused individuals through innovative harm reduction, mental health services, and housing support.

We operate street medicine teams, syringe exchange, and overdose prevention programs, and offer showers, hygiene kits, medical care, and case management at our Access Center. Our Center for Harm Reduction is one of the largest in the nation, providing critical resources to people who use drugs.

Each year, we serve thousands of clients with dignity and without judgment, empowering them to improve their health and move toward stability. Volunteers and healthcare professionals play a vital role-whether assisting with outreach, providing care, or supporting operations, your help makes a real difference on the streets of LA.

Join us in transforming lives through health, compassion, and connection.
