Mission Statement

Purpose of the festival is to EMPOWER people of all ages to participate in Monarch butterfly and pollinator recovery by providing educational presentations, hands-on activities, and low-cost access to milkweed, Monarch Waystation garden kits, and other native pollinator plants.

Description

Goal is to "Bring Back the Monarchs" to the Bay Area monarch overwintering sites, starting with the Vallejo sites (St. Peter's Chapel and Touro University on Mare Island and Glen Cove Waterfront Park). "Pie in the Sky" vision is to build community around monarchs and for them to become somewhat of a mascot or icon to Vallejo, similar to what is seen in Pacific Grove.
