New Vision Organization is a 501 (C) (4) nonprofit Organization, advocating for incarcerated first-time offenders of any offense who are serving Life and Life Without Parole. Our vision is to assist Life/LWOP individuals in accessing Supportive Resources, including Pro Bono Criminal, Appellate, Post-Conviction and/or Civil Rights' Lawyers, willing to help with their needs. In addition, many prisoners have started their own nonprofit coalition in the prison facilities and seek assistance composing newsletters on behalf of their coalition. NVO is currently recruiting interested graphic designers and/or individuals interested in helping to compose monthly or quarterly newsletters with the assistance of the incarcerated individual/s. Anyone interested may contact the Director: Leonna Abraham Brandao at newvisionorg@myyahoo.com or nvopres@verizon.net

Types Of Activity - Volunteer Prisoner Outreach Advocates do extensive research, letter writing, making phone calls and/or referrals on behalf of the incarcerated client/s, in addition to sending emails, attending Coalition Meetings, corresponding with their incarcerated clients to review their applications for assistance and to discuss the strategy most effective in helping with their needs and in effort to demonstrate transparency and to allow for all involved to feel trustful enough to open up about their feelings, downfalls, and future hopes. We also read trial transcripts for errors, assist with contacting the court/s pertaining to cases the incarcerated have in court/s and making calls to the MA DOC on behalf of the client when and/or if necessary.
