Description
The Town of Avon Parks and Recreation Department enriches lives by providing accessible parks, high-quality facilities, and diverse programming. We foster community through events, recreational opportunities, and green spaces that promote wellness, connection, and civic pride. Volunteers are vital to bringing this mission to life. Founded in 1995, Avon is one of Indiana’s fastest-growing towns. Our department manages over 100 acres of parkland, including Avon Town Hall Park, World War II Memorial Park, Gable Park, Winton Meadows Park, and the upcoming Dan Jones Road Park. These parks serve as spaces for events, fitness activities, and community connection. We offer a variety of events and programs, such as Spring Tree Sale, Avon Community Garden, Avon Farmers Market, Night at the Park, Rock the Park Music Festival, Date Night in the Park, and much more. Volunteering with Avon Parks and Recreation is a rewarding way to make a positive impact, support family-friendly events, promote outdoor activity and environmental stewardship, gain volunteer hours, and develop new skills while meeting others. Your time helps create vibrant, engaging spaces and experiences for the Avon community, making a lasting difference.
