Mission Statement
Sister-Corps’ mission is to mobilize volunteers to provide recovery efforts in areas affected by natural disasters, for environmental relief, or for other community needs.
Description
Since 2017 our all-women volunteer team travels across the country to help communities recover after disasters like hurricanes, tornadoes, and floods. Every Sister-Corps volunteer pays her own way to each project. That means the donations we raise go directly to materials and supplies. We camp in RVs, stay in cabins, bunk in churches, share meals and laughter, and leave every community stronger than we found it.
Our Goals: Provide disaster recovery and home repair to families in crisis; Create a space for women to serve, learn, and lead; Offer training opportunities in construction and carpentry; Build a nationwide network of women ready to respond when disaster strikes
Our Programs: Deployment Teams travel to areas hit by disaster to help with muck-outs, drywall, flooring, ramps, and more; Training Projects give volunteers hands-on experience with tools and building skills; Environmental Projects like our annual Sequoia cleanup show our commitment to stewardship; Emergency Response when timing and resources allow
