Are you looking for a way to give back and make a difference in someone's life? Bristol Hospice Oklahoma is seeking volunteers to provide companionship for our hospice patients. As a hospice companionship volunteer, you will offer emotional support and a comforting presence by visiting patients in their homes, nursing homes, assisted livings/skilled nursing facilities, or group homes. Activities may include: Engaging in conversation and reminiscing Reading aloud, playing music, or sharing a hobby Simply sitting with a patient and offer companionship No medical experience is needed-just a kind heart and a willingness to be there for someone in their final journey. Flexible scheduling is available. Volunteers receive training and ongoing support. All volunteers must complete inital onboarding that consists of screening, interview, verifications (background checks, TB testing, and references), online training, and orientation prior to beginning any volunteer activities. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old or older to work directly with our hospice patients. If under 18 years old, you must volunteer alongside a parent/guardian who is also a volunteer with Bristol Hospice. Join us in bringing comfort and companionship for those in need.
