Description

Little Blessings is a Veteran service non-profit located in Ottawa Lake, MI. LB was founded in 2018 by US Air Force Veteran Jamie Paxton following her own struggles reintegrating into civilian society upon separation from service. The organization has grown exponentially since its conception and now offers equine-assisted programs for the entire family. The Warrior Empowerment 50-week Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy Program is an intensive, phased outpatient program available to any Veteran with a valid DD214. Jamie herself facilitates the bi-weekly Equine Assisted Support & Development Group for military and Veteran spouses. Kyle Schaller, lead equine specialist, co-created and now facilitates the 18-week Social Emotional Equine Assisted Learning (SEEAL) Program for military kids aged 4-12. Little Blessings also offers Occupational Equine Assisted Therapy (OEATs) intensives for teens of military families aged 13-18, facilitated by a licensed social worker and a certified occupational therapist.

Beyond structured programming, Little Blessings also prides itself on fostering meaningful connections between Veteran families and supportive civilians. Community is at the heart of Little Blessings' mission, and our volunteers are a vital part of that community!
