Description
Over 7 years, the No More Silence Foundation (NMSF) located in Memphis, Tennessee has been boots on the ground for families affected by sexual violence and incest rape. Aligning families with tangible resources and coordinating sustaining community- based approaches to combat this violent crime and to provide ways to cope. Our framework includes a team of support with local partnerships, implementing knowledge-based services for promoting resilient and personal growth in efforts to break the silence culture surrounding sexual abuse, specifically incest rape. No More Silence Memphis started through philanthropy, leadership and a collaboration with law enforcement in 2016. By 2018 the NMSF team registered as a non-profit under 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, with the name No More Silence Foundation. By 2020 NMSF was awarded a proclamation and certificate from the Shelby County Government Mayor Lee Harris’s Office, honoring the Coping Through the Arts Program-coping sessions provided to families affected by this sexual abuse. NMSF is led by a Board of Directors, philanthropists, business leaders, education professionals, and entrepreneurs. NMSF team has worked with more than 30 local businesses and organizations to bring awareness to sexual abuse and to provide supportive methods for helping families cope after traumatic experiences steamed from sexual violence. Through partnerships and collaborations, the NMSF impact has gained momentum and is spreading beyond its headquarters in Memphis, Tennessee.
