Volunteer Financial Consultant (Remote - Up to 10 Hours/Week) Organization: Empower Holding Group Location: Remote (U.S. only) Time Commitment: Up to 10 hours per week Compensation: Volunteer (Unpaid) Start Date: As soon as available About Us: Empower Holding Group is a mission-driven nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting adults with intellectual disabilities , mental and behavioral health needs to achieve a level of independence through Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS). We are in an exciting startup phase and seeking a knowledgeable and reliable Volunteer Financial Consultant to support our financial infrastructure and compliance. Key Responsibilities: Provide guidance on GAAP and nonprofit financial best practices Set up or advise on accounting systems and internal controls Prepare financial documentation and reporting (e.g., Statement of Financial Position, Statement of Activities, Form 990 , etc. ) Support budget creation and grant reporting processes Advise on investment and tax liability reduction strategies Required Qualifications : Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and reside in the continental U.S. Strong knowledge of GAAP accounting financial standards Ability to work independently, communicate clearly and meet deadlines Preferred Qualifications: Advanced experience with financial planning and analysis Experience supporting start-up and/or nonprofit organizations Familiarity with H ealth and H uman S ervices and Home and Community Based Services CPA designation (active or inactive) What You'll Gain: A meaningful opportunity to shape a nonprofit from the ground up Flexible schedule and fully remote collaboration The chance to make a direct impact on people’s lives through your expertise Additional Information: This is a volunteer role with no compensation , benefits, or guarantee of future employment.
