Position: Volunteer Marketer Commitment: Flexible hours (April-October 2025) | Virtual or hybrid options available The Opportunity: We are planning a major outdoor fundraiser in October to support our youth programs-and we’re looking for a retired marketing professional or a current marketing student who wants to use their skills to make a real impact! You’ll help us get the word out, inspire community support, and drive donations-all while gaining valuable nonprofit marketing experience (or sharing the wisdom you’ve already built!). What You’ll Do: Help create and implement a simple, effective marketing plan for the event Develop promotional content (emails, flyers, social media posts) Assist with outreach to partners, local businesses, and community groups Help grow our online presence leading up to the event Brainstorm creative ways to boost attendance and donations Optional: Support press release writing or basic media outreach (if interested) We’re Looking for Someone Who: Is passionate about education, equity, and social justice Has experience or coursework in marketing, communications, or public relations Can write clearly and persuasively for different audiences Is organized, dependable, and able to meet basic deadlines Enjoys working collaboratively and bringing ideas to life Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Awesome): Social media marketing knowledge (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) Email marketing experience (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact) Graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) Experience promoting fundraising events

We’re seeking a Volunteer Social Media Ad Specialist to help create and manage digital ads that highlight our impact, grow our audience, and drive success for upcoming fundraising campaigns-including our major outdoor event this October. This is a great opportunity for a college student studying social media marketing, digital marketing, or graphic design who wants meaningful, real-world experience while making a real difference. What You’ll Help Us Do: Create compelling paid ads for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn Write strong, engaging ad copy that inspires action (donations, event sign-ups, volunteer sign-ups) Suggest smart targeting strategies to reach new audiences Support basic ad performance tracking and adjustments (optional) Amplify the inspiring stories of our students and programs through powerful visuals and messaging You Are a Great Fit If You: Have experience creating social media ads (Facebook Ads Manager preferred) Can write clear, motivating copy tailored to different platforms Are organized, dependable, and able to meet simple deadlines Believe deeply in education, opportunity, and social justice Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Awesome): Graphic design experience (e.g., Canva, Adobe Spark) Basic understanding of Google Ads or SEO Experience with small-budget digital marketing for nonprofits or small businesses

You’ll help shape the story of our impact-and inspire others to join our mission. What You’ll Do: Draft and distribute press releases about our event and organization Pitch story ideas to local newspapers, TV stations, blogs, and community newsletters Help identify media contacts and build a basic media list Assist with drafting talking points and preparing spokesperson materials Monitor any media coverage and help amplify it through our channels Optional: Support event-day media engagement if available We’re Looking for Someone Who: Believes in the power of education, community, and social justice Has experience or coursework in public relations, journalism, or communications Writes clearly, professionally, and persuasively Is organized, dependable, and responsive Feels comfortable reaching out to media outlets (or is willing to learn!) Bonus Skills (Not Required, but Awesome): Previous PR or media relations experience (internship or professional) Familiarity with press release formatting and media pitching Social media amplification (sharing coverage on Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn)
