Mission Statement
The Nonprofit Center at 41 Community Place offers capacity-building support to local 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations with the overall goal of advancing the health and wellness of Anne Arundel County residents.
Description
The idea to create the Nonprofit Center came about during the COVID pandemic. Nonprofit organizations have always provided critical services in the county, but the crisis highlighted the importance of their work. Anne Arundel County provided grants to local nonprofits during the pandemic using federal funds. Knowing that the funding was time-limited, the administration had to decide how to best address ongoing community needs. The answer was to invest in the nonprofit organizations that fill those needs, through continuation of the Community Support Grant program and the creation of the Nonprofit Center.
The Nonprofit Center offers resources, professional development opportunities, and shared work and meeting spaces for nonprofits at it's building on the Crownsville Hospital Memorial Park campus. Programming began in July 2023 and the building opened in May 2025.
