Mission Statement
The My Heart Spark Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit research organization dedicated to preventing cardiovascular disease in everyone, through innovative research, education, patient advocacy, and promoting patient-centered care. This is especially also with a focus on anyone who has ever been diagnosed with cancer, seeking to ensure they receive the knowledge, resources, and medical advancements necessary to protect their heart health. By integrating cutting-edge research with real-world patient care, we bridge the gap between discovery and implementation, fostering health equity and personalized cardiovascular prevention strategies.
Description
The My Heart Spark Foundation, Inc. envisions a world where all individuals-especially cancer survivors and underserved communities-receive innovative, proactive cardiovascular care. We aim to transform cardio-oncology and preventive cardiology into accessible, patient-centered, and data-driven fields. Through research, education, technology, and advocacy, we advance AI-powered, generalizable, and equitable care.
As a non-profit research and education organization, we will operate across three pillars:
- Innovative Research & Trials: We conduct clinical research like the PACT Feasibility Trial, focused on AI in cardio-oncology. We prioritize diversity in study recruitment and partner with academic, pharmaceutical, and clinical institutions.
- Education & Training: We deliver education to providers and patients, offering digital courses, workshops, and community health outreach to build knowledge and confidence in cardiovascular wellness.
- Advocacy & Engagement: We champion patient empowerment through community events, cultural wellness initiatives, and direct advocacy services, reducing barriers to care.
Funding sources include grants, sponsorships, donations, and partnerships.
Our Founder:
Dr. Sherry-Ann Brown, MD, PhD, FACC, FAHA, is a cardiologist, scientist, and national leader in preventive and cardio-oncology care. She has founded My Heart Spark to advance equity, research, and innovation-bridging science and community for lasting impact.
