Mission Statement
To discover less toxic, more targeted treatments for childhood cancer by funding cutting-edge research and raising awareness--because kids deserve better.
Description
SebastianStrong was founded in 2017 to honor Sebastian Ortiz, a vibrant and compassionate teen who passed away at 16 after a 14-month battle with rhabdomyosarcoma. His story revealed a devastating truth: most treatments for childhood cancer are outdated, toxic, and ineffective.
Our Mission: To fund less toxic, more targeted treatments for childhood cancer by supporting innovative research and raising awareness-because kids deserve better.
What We Do:
* Fund Research: We’ve had an impact of over $6M in childhood cancer research across leading U.S. institutions driving innovation.
* Raise Awareness: From community campaigns to FDA roundtables, we advocate for better, safer treatments.
* Support Kids & Families: We deliver hospital programs, joyful experiences, and STEM scholarships for survivors.
* Build Community: Events like Howl for Hope and Kayaking the Keys for Hope bring supporters together to drive impact.
Why Volunteer? Your time fuels our mission. Whether you’re lending a hand at an event, spreading awareness, or sharing your skills, you’re helping us discover hope for kids with cancer. Together, we can create a future with more breakthroughs-and more life.
