Mission Statement
Healthy forested parks and greenspaces have the power to strengthen neighborhoods, provide safe access to nature, and offer numerous valuable benefits to the environment. Through community involvement we can reach our goal of creating healthy forests for all in Redmond and achieving 40% tree canopy coverage by 2038.
Description
The Green Redmond Partnership is building a sustainable network of healthy urban green spaces for the benefit and enjoyment of our entire city. Since 2009, more than 12,730 Green Redmond volunteers have dedicated 38,490 hours to plant 14,463 trees and 25,404 shrubs and small plants throughout 20 different Redmond parks.
Through this program, Green Redmond partners with local communities to recruit, train and support volunteer stewards to lead forest restoration projects. The City aims to build a strong culture of community stewardship, leadership and partnership to support healthy urban forests for everyone. Each city’s program relies on a network of individuals, organizations, staff, and volunteers. All partners are essential for the success of the project.
