Mission Statement
Text Power Telling (TPT) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide safe spaces for survivors of sexual trauma to practice writing as a transformative and healing process. Through writing workshops, online publications, and collaborations with diverse stakeholders (including therapists, community organizers, public service organizations), TPT centers sexual trauma survivors’ healing by providing opportunities for creative expression in writing, art, and body.

Text Power Telling (TPT) is dedicated to creating safe, empowering spaces for survivors of sexual trauma to engage in writing as a transformative and healing process. TPT offers healing writing workshops that provide survivors with opportunities to explore their experiences and reclaim their narratives through creative expression. In addition to workshops, TPT publishes TPT Magazine, a creative arts publication that features writing and artwork by survivors, fostering a supportive community and amplifying marginalized voices.
Through our For Those Who Help Blog initiative, TPT extends its mission by supporting those who serve survivors-therapists, educators, community organizers, and advocacy groups-by offering tools and resources to integrate expressive writing into their healing work.
