Mission Statement

The mission of the ASO is to serve the citizens of Alabama by performing great music and enriching lives through its music. The ASO strives to be a fine regional orchestra that produces symphonic music of the highest quality and provides outstanding outreach and educational programs while maintaining its fiscal strength.

Description

Located primarily in Birmingham, the ASO is the only full-time, professional symphony orchestra in the state of Alabama. Each season is comprised of four major concert series, special event concerts (usually large choral works), Young People's Concerts for area schoolchildren, and a number of free events in area parks. In this way, we serve more than 80,000 music lovers each year.
