Mission Statement

Info For Neuroscience is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to improving mental and cognitive health through neuroscience education and music-based healing. We believe that knowledge and creativity can transform lives, and we strive to make neuroscience accessible, empowering, and impactful for all communities. Through initiatives like Calm Minds Connected Brains, we engage volunteers in meaningful service -- from creating therapeutic music playlists for healthcare facilities to leading educational outreach and community events. Our mission is to destigmatize neurological conditions, promote emotional wellness, and bridge science with art to build a more compassionate, informed world. We value equity, curiosity, empathy, and collaboration, and we welcome volunteers who are passionate about making a difference through innovative, science-backed service.

Description

Info For Neuroscience (IFN) is a student-led nonprofit dedicated to improving cognitive and mental health through neuroscience education and music-based service. Founded to make brain science more accessible and impactful, IFN blends research, creativity, and community engagement to promote well-being.

Our flagship program, Calm Minds Connected Brains (CMCB), empowers volunteers to create therapeutic playlists grounded in music therapy principles. These playlists are shared with nursing homes, hospitals, and rehabilitation centers to support emotional and cognitive health. For every 15 songs, volunteers earn 1 service hour and write short reflections to ensure meaningful engagement.

We also host educational webinars, community outreach events, and awareness campaigns to destigmatize neurological conditions and promote the role of music and science in healing.

Now fiscally sponsored by Hack Club, IFN can accept tax-deductible donations, apply for grants, and officially award the President’s Volunteer Service Award (PVSA) to recognize the service of our volunteers. Our work has reached diverse communities and continues to grow through research, advocacy, and youth leadership.

Join us to make a difference in lives through science, music, and service.
