At Day & Knight Chess Club, our mission is to empower young minds through chess by fostering critical thinking, resilience, and leadership skills. As a nonprofit organization, we are dedicated to making chess accessible and impactful for diverse communities through structured learning, competitive tournaments, and community engagement. We aim to build a vibrant chess community where students of all levels can grow and thrive. Through our academy classes, online community, mentorship programs, and local tournaments--including district, inter-district, and free USCF-rated events--we provide meaningful opportunities for personal development and lifelong learning. Volunteers are essential to our mission. By sharing your time, skills, and passion, you help create lasting change, support youth development, and inspire the next generation of thinkers and leaders. Description

Day & Knight Chess Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering young minds through chess. We believe that chess is more than just a game-it’s a tool for developing critical thinking, leadership, and life skills. Our mission is to make chess accessible and impactful for students from diverse backgrounds.

Our programs include structured chess classes for all skill levels, competitive tournaments (district, inter-district, and free USCF-rated), online virtual classes, and a mentorship program for high school students preparing for life after graduation. We also foster a strong online community to keep students engaged beyond the classroom.

We proudly serve over 1,000 students annually, with recent tournaments hosting over 50 participants. Our team of around 40 university student coaches brings passion and mentorship to every class and event.

We believe in giving back and are open to partnering with other community organizations, schools, and volunteer initiatives. With our dedicated team, we are ready to support community projects, offer manpower, or collaborate on events to make a positive impact.
