To serve all people in need-the poor, the hurt, the estranged, and all those subject to discrimination-with equal emphasisbeing given to advocacy for social and economic justice as well as addressing immediate needs. CSM facilitates the social ministry of parishes, interfaith groups, and communities; its method is always to encourage and enable all Christians to recognize and carry out their rightful responsiblity to share their love and gifts in social ministry.
CSM is incorporated with the Bishop of Raliegh as President and is governed by a Volunteer board of directors from throughout the eastern half of North Carolina. CSM has seven regional offices as well as resource officees in special areas of expertise. The organization functions with small staff, numerous volunteers and the financial gifts of individuals and groups; the needs always far outweigh the resources.
