Mission Statement
EIKON is driven by the promise that Jesus’s love and life reconciles all people into the image of God. We exist to share this love by empowering the most vulnerable in our community through action-driven paradigms that address the root causes of that vulnerability in the Bay Area.
Description
In 2020, 8 people sat at a dining room table on 42nd Ave in East Oakland with the agreement to do everything they could to serve the community around them. At the height of the pandemic & with few resources, this group launched Eikon. Since then, we have created 4 paradigms in which we believe we can not only share the love of Jesus but meet people at their point of need.
- Infinite Christmas - a home goods program that receives donations from major commercial businesses. It partners with over 20 nonprofits, schools, & churches in the Bay Area to support 1000 individuals every month. Last year alone we served over 17,000 individuals.
- Eikon's food recovery & distribution program recovers 500 pounds of food a week. This food gets distributed directly to families & serves around 150 people weekly. In 2025, Eikon was awarded a grant by StopWaste to finish out a free store located at Eikon's church facility.
- The Biblically Empowered Worldview Curriculum is a global 8-course study that aims to help people discover their identity to make real-life changes in their life & community. In 2024, Eikon was the first to use it the United States.
- Eikon's purpose is to be a community. We have a Sunday gathering and hosts weekly meetings for people of all ages to find connection.
