The Society of Art Los Angeles (SALA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to advancing arts education and promoting the arts through engaging, site-specific programs, is seeking a skilled volunteer to help us expand our digital presence. What We Need: Website Development: Guidance and assistance in creating a user-friendly, visually appealing website that effectively communicates our mission. E-commerce Strategy: Advice on how to organize and integrate an online store within the website. Marketing & Social Media: Recommendations for social media marketing strategies and how to plan and schedule consistent, engaging content. Why Volunteer with SALA? Position Overview: The Financial Operations Analyst will play a critical role in supporting the financial planning and strategic growth of SALA. This position is responsible for creating detailed Excel-based budgets, developing financial models, assisting in strategic planning, and ensuring compliance with nonprofit financial regulations. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of nonprofit financial management and strong analytical skills. Key Responsibilities: Develop, manage, and maintain comprehensive budgets using Excel, including operational, programmatic, and project-specific budgets. Create financial models to forecast revenue, expenses, and potential growth scenarios. Collaborate with leadership to create a strategic financial plan aligned with SALA’s mission and goals. Prepare financial reports and projections for grant applications, donor presentations, and board meetings. Monitor and analyze financial performance, providing recommendations for improvements. Ensure compliance with nonprofit financial regulations, including IRS requirements and state-specific guidelines. Assist in the development of funding proposals by providing financial data and strategic recommendations. Provide guidance on financial risk management and sustainability planning. Research relevant nonprofit financial laws and integrate compliance requirements into the organization's financial processes.

We are seeking a volunteer legal advisor interested in gaining hands-on experience working with a California-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on arts education and socially engaging, site-specific arts programs. This role is ideal for a law student, recent graduate, or legal professional looking to contribute their skills while building expertise in nonprofit governance, entertainment law, real estate, tax law, international operations, and immigration law. Responsibilities: Review and ensure compliance with nonprofit governance regulations, including maintaining 501(c)(3) status. Provide legal guidance on contracts, partnerships, collaborations, and intellectual property matters. Assist in drafting or reviewing MOUs, agreements, policy statements, and other legal documents. Advise on entertainment law matters related to events, exhibitions, performances, digital content, and licensing. Provide strategic guidance on real estate issues related to site-specific installations, property leases, permits, and usage agreements. Research and ensure compliance with tax law regulations relevant to 501(c)(3) organizations, including state and federal reporting requirements, charitable contributions, and unrelated business income. Research legal requirements and provide guidance for international collaborations, including cross-border partnerships, compliance with foreign legal standards, and potential tax implications. Provide counsel on immigration law matters related to obtaining visas or permits for visiting artists, collaborators, and international programming. Provide strategic advice on risk management, liability, and organizational structuring. Qualifications: JD degree, current law student, or recent law graduate with interest in nonprofit law, entertainment law, real estate law, tax law, international operations, and immigration law. Familiarity with nonprofit compliance and governance (experience with 501(c)(3) organizations preferred). Knowledge of tax law and immigration law is a strong plus.
