Description

Jazz Fest on the Red is an annual music festival held in Shreveport, Louisiana, dedicated to celebrating the rich heritage and evolving artistry of jazz. Founded and co-created by Charity Moran and Ennis Gil, the festival brings together jazz musicians, artisans, and cultural organizations to create a vibrant, family-friendly experience along the scenic Red River.

With a strong commitment to community engagement, Jazz Fest on the Red fosters partnerships with local businesses, arts organizations, and educational institutions to provide unique programming, including live performances, artisan vendors, culinary experiences, and interactive zones like the Zen Den and Kids Zone. The festival also supports aspiring young musicians through scholarship opportunities for high school jazz band students in Louisiana, particularly in the Ark-La-Tex region.

Guided by a board representing key areas such as marketing, music curation, city planning, and the arts, the organization is committed to making Jazz Fest on the Red a premier cultural event. By maintaining a focus on jazz as its core genre, the festival ensures an authentic and immersive experience for audiences while promoting the continued appreciation of jazz music in the region.
