At Otterbein SeniorLife of Perrysburg, we have created a unique program that fosters a culture of lifelong learning, allowing elders to engage in discussions about captivating subjects, explore STEM projects, and enjoy a variety of documentaries, films, and literature. We are seeking enthusiastic individuals who are eager to share their knowledge through our discovery program. We have a day set aside on our activities calendar on Mondays anytime between 1pm and 4:30pm, but we are always open to change things up to accommodate your schedule! Come share your skills or simple engagement in the world of discovering new things. Do you have a fun science project that your child would like to present? Our elders would be thrilled to see it! Are you a retired educator? Reignite your passion by leading discussions on fascinating topics or demonstrating simple science experiments that bubble or pop. Would you like to bring your scout group to launch rockets outdoors? That sounds like a blast! The possibilities are endless. Let Otterbein help you turn your adventurous ideas into reality. Our elders may be seasoned in years, but they are always excited to participate in or observe new experiences.

Become a part of our mission to enrich the lives of elders at Otterbein of Perrysburg by sharing your gardening skills. Your love for plants can foster meaningful relationships and enjoyable experiences for our elderly neighborhood. Become a part of our elder-led Garden Club, gathering on the first Wednesday of each month at 1 PM at house 3531. Together, we will brainstorm and implement beautification projects for our neighborhood and beyond! By choosing your own volunteer schedule, you can help elders with their gardening routines at a frequency that suits you-be it daily, weekly, or monthly. Interested in giving a talk about your gardening enthusiasm? Absolutely! Want to showcase photos of your garden? We encourage that too! There are countless opportunities for you to express your passion, and we are dedicated to fostering connections between you and our neighborhood. Each of our five houses features raised flower beds and private patios, allowing you to help cultivate stunning flowers, herbs, fruit plants, potted plants, and much more. You might also enjoy helping them water their beloved plants with our new retractable hose reels, making the task easier and more fun for everyone.
