The purpose of Our Grateful Garden is to advance community well-being by addressing ecological separation, food insecurity, and addiction recovery. We achieve this by creating and promoting sustainable, multi-functional spaces that nurture the environment, support equitable food access, and inspire personal and community healing.
Description
Signature initiatives include Food Pantry Gardens, tree planting programs, and transformative projects such as Mended Fences, which highlights the importance of making amends and self-forgiveness, and the St. Patrick’s Day Pea Shoot Fest, which uses the life cycle of pea shoots as a metaphor for recovery, symbolizing the transformative power of light and growth. Through these efforts, Our Grateful Garden seeks to build a more connected, sustainable, and equitable world, one garden at a time.
