Mission Statement
The Massachusetts Long Term Care Ombudsman Program is a federally mandated initiative to assist residents of Nursing Homes, Rest Homes, and Assisted Living Residences when they have concerns about their rights, quality of care and life at the home. Ombudsmen volunteers confidentially ensure residents of these homes have a voice, high-quality care, and a dignified life. Ombudsmen provide information to residents, families, and staff about residents’ rights, available services, and how to access resources. An Ombudsman is assigned to a long-term care home and visits residents on a regular basis.
