Mission Statement
Books are hard to come by in Uganda. The text books used in schools are owned by the teachers and not accessible outside of school hours. Namanya Memorial Community Library (NMCL) was founded to give children access to reading material and help with their lessons, to help them become confident readers. At NMCL children and families find books, technology, and programs that inspire learning and growth.
Description
Since opening in 2022, the library has helped students of all ages improve their grades through after-school studies and access to learning materials. With the help of our dedicated volunteers, young children are learning to read and write above their grade level. For parents in the community, seeing their children succeed brings joy and hope for a brighter future.
