Mission Statement
At the Veteran Art Institute (VAI), we believe in the transformative power of art to support and uplift our nation’s veterans. Artistic expression serves as a powerful tool for healing, connection, and resilience, helping veterans navigate the challenges of civilian life. Our mission is to create a space where veterans can use art for personal growth, community engagement, and economic opportunity to overcome not just PTSD but other service connected disorders like military sexual trauma, housing and food insecurity, addition and recovery and major depression.
Description
The Veteran Art Institute is a veteran-only art platform, offering healing, connection, and professional growth. Programs provide structured opportunities for veteran expression, building confidence, and reintegrating into civilian life. Veterans get a free, individual webpage, artist profile, a mini-gallery with a link to their points-of-purchase (PoP). There is free training, available once registered, in painting, photography and more. Most important: being in community with other veterans. Many claim- you "wouldn't understand if you are not a vet". Since launching the new website, 11.11.23 more than 900 veterans have joined VAI - we know we are filling a gap.
