Behind the Smiles: The Darius Roberts Foundation is dedicated to breaking the silence surrounding mental health and suicide awareness by fostering healing, hope, and resilience. Our mission is to provide accessible resources, education, and therapeutic support to individuals and families affected by mental health challenges, with a focus on individuals needing financial assistance in getting therapy. With the support of our partners and donors, we are committed to honoring the legacy of Darius Roberts by advocating for mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and the well-being of those in need. Together, we can turn pain into purpose and bring light to those battling in the dark.

Description

Behind the Smiles, the Darius Roberts Foundation, was founded by Kristi Roberts in memory of her son, Darius, who passed away by suicide. Our mission is to promote mental health awareness, suicide prevention, and emotional well-being through education, community engagement, and therapeutic programs. We offer initiatives like The Gift of Therapy, which provides three free therapy sessions each year to two individuals in need. Our annual event, held each November, showcases the healing power of various therapies, including music, art, fitness, and pet therapy, while fostering connections within the community. We’ve partnered with local organizations, artists, and law enforcement to create a supportive, stigma-free environment for mental health discussions. Our goal is to continue expanding our programs, providing accessible mental health resources, and saving lives by bringing hope to those who need it most.
