The Hive is a place to hang out after school for kids ages 3rd through 8th grade! Kids are encouraged to have fun and BE KIDS!!
Description
In 2024, individuals saw a need to help the youth in Silverton, Oregon. Parents were asking for free/reduced cost childcare for elementary and middle school aged kids, grades 3 rd through 8 th.
The idea for THE HIVE was born in response to these questions, and the real struggle that exists for parents who work and are still unable to afford childcare. For Parents that must have two jobs to make ends meet yet cannot afford childcare. For parents who want a safe and inclusive place for their kids to go until they can get off work.
THE HIVE is available to 3 rd through 8 th graders every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school until 5:30PM. Our goal is to be able to continue to offer free/reduced childcare to the Silver Falls School District for many years to come, with the support of our community and parents who know the importance of a safe and inclusive place for kids to BE KIDS!
