Mission Statement

Crochet Class 501(c)(3) is a dedicated nonprofit organization committed to enriching, strengthening, and actively engaging our community through the art of crocheting. Our mission is to harness the therapeutic and unifying power of crochet to make a tangible difference in people's lives. We operate two key initiatives: The Mats Project and The Art of Crochet Project. Through these initiatives, Crochet Class 501(c)(3) strives to create a supportive environment where individuals can connect, learn, and contribute to meaningful causes. By combining artistic expression with community service, we aim to empower participants and positively impact the lives of those in need.

Description

The Mats Project focuses on repurposing plastic bags into eco-friendly, sustainable bed mats for individuals experiencing homelessness on the streets of Las Vegas, Nevada. Through innovative upcycling, we address both environmental concerns and the urgent needs of the unhoused population.
The Art of Crochet Project employs crocheting as an art-based approach to enhance learning, alleviate stress and pain, strengthen mental acuity and focus, and support individuals on their journey toward empowerment.
