The Extended Family is re-imagining the ways in which adults with disabilities lead productive lives by fostering exploration, empathy, expression, and independence through meaningful engagement. Through collaborative partnerships we co-create initiatives for those in need.
Description
Our Meaningful Engagement community classes open the possibilities for all adults to learn to create new products for our neighbors in need. No experience is necessary, work at your own pace in a stress-free, social and fun environment. Participants learn a variety of skills, including how to be a valuable contributing member of your local community. Through our Community Giving Cupboard initiative participants weigh/measure, pack, label and deliver meals in a bag for our food insecure neighbors. They also create hygiene kits for those in need.
