Mission Statement

Our mission is to improve the well-being of our local youth and their families through increased exposure to nature and time spent playing freely outside. We understand the many physical, mental, emotional, social, and environmental benefits of time outdoors and we believe that all people, especially children, have the right to a consistent and frequent connection to nature.

Description

Forest Families of Chattanooga is a nonprofit dedicated to connecting families with nature and fostering community. We host hiking meetups, free play in nature, educational workshops, and special events like camping trips and art series. Our goal is to inspire outdoor exploration, environmental stewardship, and connection.

Since our founding, we have engaged countless families through creative and educational programs, promoting the benefits of time spent outdoors. Volunteers are essential to our mission- join us in building a stronger, healthier community through nature.
