Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
The Society's mission is to encourage an appreciation of the history of Wayne County through the collection, preservation, and exhibition of artifacts and to disseminate historical information about Wayne County and the surrounding area.
The Wayne County Historical Society was formed in 1946 and the Society Museum has been operating from its present location, a 148-year-old former sheriff's residence and attached county jail, since 1962. Adjacent to the Museum is an exhibit-filled barn, and behind that is the Kaiser Memorial Garden. The Museum is open to the public Tuesday - Friday from 10-4 (Labor Day to Memorial Day); Monday - Friday from 10-4 and Saturday from 12-4 (Memorial Day to Labor Day); and by appointment.
