Volunteer with the Samuel Lawrence Foundation: Protect Communities and Secure the Future Are you passionate about protecting the environment and advocating for safer, sustainable solutions for our planet and future generations? Join the Samuel Lawrence Foundation as a volunteer and help address one of today’s most pressing environmental challenges: the removal and containment of over 3.6 million pounds of nuclear waste at the San Onofre State Beach! You'll engage the community, support SLF’s mission as a platform for diverse voices and positive change, promote SLF's social media, and further fundraising efforts. Your efforts will directly contribute to raising awareness, educating the public, and advocating for solutions that safeguard our communities, wildlife, and future generations! What You’ll Do as a Volunteer You’ll be a key part of our mission by contributing to: Community Education: Share the risks of nuclear waste and the urgent need for safe, long-term solutions with the public at surf events, campus activities, and other outreach opportunities. Advocacy and Awareness: Sign up attendees for SLF’s monthly newsletter and podcast, promote SLF’s social media, and encourage meaningful engagement with our projects. Fundraising Support: Help drive donations to expand SLF’s programs to support our impactful programs. Event Participation: Assist in tabling at events, engaging with attendees, distributing materials, and representing SLF as a platform for diverse voices and positive change. Who You Are We’re looking for volunteers who share our passion and bring these skills to the table: Required: Excellent communication skills. Enthusiasm for community outreach and environmental advocacy. Organized, reliable, and self-motivated. Ability to collaborate. Basic knowledge of social media platforms like Instagram and YouTube. Preferred: Interest or background in environmental science, sustainability, or nonprofit work. Experience with community engagement or fundraising. Why Volunteer with SLF?
