Mission Statement
Long Covid Families empowers children and families affected by infection-associated conditions. Our mission is to accelerate pediatric research and ensure safe and appropriate access to education and essential medical care. We advocate for the rights and protections of children experiencing these conditions and their caregivers. Through our work, we support families and ensure a brighter future for everyone navigating these challenges.
Description
Long Covid Families (LCF) supports families of children with infection associated conditions such as Long COVID by providing resources to help them navigate both the medical system and the school system. We offer toolkits, up-to-date research, and guidance to advocate for healthcare access and school accommodations. Our programs include Pediatric Long COVID Awareness Week, educational outreach, and partnerships with researchers and policymakers to ensure children are included in important conversations. Key achievements include co-authoring a JAMA article on pediatric Long COVID, contributing to the NIH RECOVER initiative, and creating resources that empower parents to secure appropriate care and support for their children. Volunteers help us expand these efforts to reach more families and build a better future for children impacted by infection.
