ALARM Summary:

Vision: A peaceful Africa, free from tribal and religious conflicts.

Mission: To develop servant leaders in African churches and communities who reconcile and transform lives impacted by violence and injustice.

History: Founded in 1994 by Dr. Celestin Musekura, a Rwandan Christian leader, ALARM arose from the need to train leaders after the Rwandan genocide and the exodus of Western missionaries during regional conflicts. Its purpose was to foster servant leadership, peacebuilding, reconciliation, and community transformation across Rwanda and neighboring countries.

Goals: ALARM seeks to empower African churches by equipping leaders with pastoral and ministerial skills. Its aim is to nurture Bible-based, culturally relevant churches that bring holistic healing to communities, fostering Christlike passion, thought, and service.

Strategy: ALARM collaborates with local churches, denominations, and American volunteers to provide theological training, pastoral skills, and social transformation initiatives like micro-enterprise and compassion ministries. It invests in African trainers and partnerships to address the region’s evolving challenges.
