Mission Statement

Our mission at Confronting Domestic Violence, Inc. is to provide real time resources to real time victims to include offering relocation services when parents have a safe place to go but not the means to get there. No parent should have to leave everything behind when moving for safety.

Description

We are reaching our 3rd year as a 501c3.

In 2022 (our 1st year) we focused on establishing a solid infrastructure, learning more about the nonprofit sector, and identifying areas needed for growth. We also obtained our first small grant offered through the state.

In 2023 we had a community outreach in Illinois at a local college bringing awareness and resources, learned from fundraising mistakes, started to build an email list, began networking and obtained a mentor through Score.

In 2024 our program launched and we are now serving up to 50 victims a month. We made it on the news twice, once with a celebrity for our inaugural gala (which consumed most of our time) and again for a secret Santa we offered families that transitioned out of a shelter.

We also made it to the directory of Domestic Shelters, we have a Candid account, was accepted by FrontStream, and started building a directory of our own (50+ organizations serving the DV community). We were recently granted SalesForce and scored a college intern.
