G&CS Advocacy and Rescue is looking for passionate and dedicated volunteers to join our mission of saving dogs from high-kill shelters and preventing pets from entering shelters. As a foster-based rescue, we rely on the support of our community to provide a safe and nurturing environment for dogs in need. Volunteer Opportunities: Foster Care: Provide a temporary home for dogs while they await adoption. Event Support: Help with organizing and running adoption events. Social Media: Assist with promoting our rescue efforts on social media platforms. Fundraising: Participate in fundraising activities to support our rescue operations. Transportation: Help transport dogs to and from vet appointments and adoption events. Responsibilities: Manage and create content for social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram). Promote fundraising events, adoption stories, and volunteer opportunities. Engage with the online community by responding to comments and messages. Collaborate with the event planning and fundraising teams to ensure effective promotion. Monitor analytics to enhance engagement and reach. Develop content that reflects key trends, insights, and strategic stories. Assist other directors in increasing brand awareness and engagement. Promote the brand to increase social media traffic, engagement, followers, sponsors, and donations. Proofread and ensure clear, effective delivery of social media messages. Maintain and update operational documents; assist in developing procedures. Draft and edit content for various marketing campaigns. Requirements: Experience with social media management. Strong written communication skills and creative mindset. Knowledge of social media best practices and importance of adhering to branding guidelines. Familiarity with animal welfare and rescue operations is a plus. Ability to work independently and collaborate with a team.

This is an unpaid volunteer opportunity. Directors and Coordinators are expected to put in a minimum of 6 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours. The Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with the Volunteer Director to recruit, train, and manage volunteers for various programs and events. This role involves administrative support, volunteer coordination, communication, and event planning. The ideal candidate should have excellent interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for working with volunteers. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in developing and implementing strategies to recruit new volunteers. Participate in interviews, background checks, and orientation sessions for volunteers. Help maintain volunteer records and ensure accurate data entry. Work with other departments to ensure volunteers are effectively integrated into operations. Maintain volunteer databases, update records, and prepare reports as needed. Assist in tracking volunteers, participation, and feedback. Help with communication efforts, including newsletters, emails, and other forms of outreach to volunteers. Work with event coordinator to schedule volunteers for events Support efforts to recognize and reward volunteers for their contributions. Help plan and execute volunteer appreciation initiatives. Required Skills: Previous experience in volunteer management or nonprofit work preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google based systems. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills. Flexibility. Attention to detail and strong time-management skills. Positive attitude and a passion for community service. The Volunteer Coordinator should be prepared to work in fast-paced environments, handle multiple tasks, and engage with diverse groups of people.
