Mission Statement

NAFI Connecticut is dedicated to empowering individuals and families through a comprehensive range of trauma-informed, holistic services that strengthen communities and foster resilience. Since our founding, we have been committed to addressing the diverse needs of at-risk youth, families, and individuals across the tri-state area. Today, our programs collectively serve more than 1,500 families annually, providing vital resources and support that help overcome challenges such as poverty, limited healthcare access, and systemic inequalities.

Description

Our mission is to strengthen communities by offering tailored support through evidence-based, client-centered programs. Guided by this mission, we operate six primary service divisions:

  • Behavioral Health & Wellness Programs: Compassionate, comprehensive treatment for behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.
  • Family Strengthening & In-Home Programs: Evidence-based models designed to preserve families, reduce conflict, and decrease parental stress.
  • Group Homes and Residential Programs: Supportive, home-like environments for young adults to build skills and explore possibilities with 24-hour staff support.
  • Foster Care Services: Helping children and adolescents achieve permanency and stability in nurturing homes.
  • Developmental Services: Supporting youth and adults with developmental challenges as they work toward greater independence.
  • Youth Development Programs: Empowering young people through personal growth, academic success, and career readiness initiatives.

With approximately 300 highly trained and compassionate professionals, NAFI Connecticut is deeply embedded in the communities we serve. Our team uses a community-based approach to ensure that programs meet local needs, promote resilience, and support self-sufficiency.
