Description
Englewood Arts is an innovative organization focused on creating a diverse and sustainable community in harmony with the arts. The Englewood neighborhood is diverse (49% minority, 28% Hispanic/Latino), and 51% of residents rent their current home. Since our inception as a grassroots organization in 2019, we have acquired and renovated a formerly abandoned building into what is now a community arts center, and established East Winner Road as Independence’s Arts District. Our mission and impact is twofold, aiming to establish our arts center as a local beacon of community and to create affordable and sustainable housing opportunities throughout eastern Jackson County.
