Mission Statement
The National High School Basketball Association (NHSBA) is a national nonprofit organization founded in 2006 with the purpose of providing youth a safe haven to develop physically, emotionally, and intellectually. We focus on practical life skills that will guide their path toward graduation from high school, college or trade school, and into successful adult life.
Description
The NHSBA was founded by Deuntate Copeland in 2006. The NHSBA is operated by grant funding, private donations and corporate sponsorships. During 2012, the NHSBA expanded its reach to several new cities to increase student enrollment for the organization.
Many youth lack role models and become subject to the temptations and realities of drug use, alcohol abuse, gangs, violence, and bullying. With fear, self-esteem issues and little involvement, youth lack safe havens for proper childhood de velopment. On a daily basis, youth need practical support for: * Food * Job training * Education * Activities * Transportation * Life support.
