Description
Aspiring Emergency Managers Online (AEMO) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to empowering the next generation of emergency management professionals. Through networking, training, mentorship, and career support, AEMO provides resources to help individuals excel in the field.
Founded in June 2020 by Brandi M. Hunter as a LinkedIn group, AEMO began as a space for aspiring, mid-career, and seasoned emergency managers to support one another in education, training, and job searches. Since then, the community has grown to over 4,500 members, reflecting a shared commitment to advancing the profession.
In late 2023, AEMO expanded its vision based on member feedback, transitioning into a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by mid-2024. This milestone marked a new chapter in delivering targeted resources and fostering a resilient, prepared community of professionals.
AEMO operates on three core pillars: Educational Resources, Community Building, and Career Development. These pillars guide its mission to educate, mentor, and support aspiring emergency managers, ensuring a future workforce ready to meet the challenges of the profession.
