Mission Statement
Our missions is to render service to Tri-City Medical Center, its patients and staff and to assist the Medical Center in promoting the health and well-being of the community. We are a non-profit 501(c)(3) established in 1954 serving the communities of Oceanside, Vista, and Carlsbad. We currently have over 170 volunteers, with the need to grow our numbers to support the various departments we support within the hospital.
Description
We ask our Auxiliary volunteers to commit to work a minimum of two 4-hour shifts per month for a minimum of one year. Over 50 of our volunteers have been with the Auxiliary for 10 or more years and work more than the minimum threshold. This is a family; a group of individuals committed to care, serve, and belong. Volunteers currently work in over 10 departments within the hospital setting and are often the first interface with families and patients coming to the hospital for services or visits. Volunteer areas include Information Desk, Intensive Care Unit, Cortesy Shuttle, Patient Registration, Escort and Advocacy, Gift Shop, Surgery and more. Our organization also supports hospital initiatives like the annual food drive. We support local college students with our annual scholarship program. In 2024 we provided over $60,000 in scholarship awards ro students from MiraCosta College, Palomar College, and Cal Sate San Marcos. Come Explore how you can make a difference.
