Mission Statement

The Sanctuary is first and foremost a home for wolves and wolf-hybrids. These animals would be destroyed if no one cared to help them. We provide a safe, healthy and happy home for these animals That is as happy as they can be in captivity{} When possible we place the animals with responsible owners who can demonstrate their ability to provide a good home. If a suitable owner cannot be found, KMMWS serves as an alternative to killing.

Description

To help fund the Sanctuary, KMMWS will also provide boarding for wolves whose owners understand that their animal cannot be stored in the nearest kennel. In fact many kennels will not accept even wolf-hybrids. Partly because of the difficulties involved and partly because of fear and hatred of wolves that is sadly part of American folklore.KMMWS will also provide a knowledge base for wolf owners, veterinarians, animal control personnel, and other shelter operators. To increase that knowledge base, some of the wolves will be available to qualified researchers who wish to study wolf behavior. Experiments that threaten the wolves' health or safety will not be allowed.
