Volunteer Soccer Coach Opportunity Location: Ryerson Community School (Indoors) - 96 Denison Ave, Toronto, M5T 1E4 Term: January to April 2025 Time Commitment: 2 hours/week (likely Monday or Friday evenings, 6-8 PM). Minimum commitment: 4 sessions. About NUTMEG NUTMEG is a volunteer-run, not-for-profit organization providing free soccer and educational programs for kids of all genders in Toronto. We’re driven by friendship, fun, respect, equity, education, and teamwork. Our programs include: All-girls (ages 6-12): Mondays, 6-7:30 PM All-genders (ages 6-12): Fridays, 6-7 PM & 7-8 PM Role Overview As a volunteer coach, you’ll lead sessions alongside head coaches, focusing on: Engaging kids in drills and scrimmages. Teaching soccer skills while promoting confidence and teamwork. Managing behavior and creating a positive, fun environment. Each session includes: welcome, warm-up, drills, education, scrimmage, and wrap-up. Key Responsibilities Arrive by 6:00 PM to set up and connect with participants. Build relationships with kids to identify their skills and needs. Collaborate with the coaching team and communicate via Slack (training provided). Qualifications We’re looking for coaches who are: Enthusiastic, dependable, and great with kids. Adaptable in their coaching style to inspire diverse participants. Role models who embody respect and teamwork. Bonus if you have: Soccer or coaching experience. First Aid training. A passion for mentorship and community impact. Requirements Commitment to at least 4 sessions during the term. Willingness to undergo a Vulnerable Sector Check (covered by NUTMEG). Why Volunteer with Us?
